Fell Swoop clearly required a run when he worked to the line for sixth in the Group 1 Oakleigh Plate (1100m) first-up and has drawn into the 2017 The Galaxy field in barrier 9, with Hugh Bowman to take the ride.

Fell Swoop was a standout performer for Canberra trainer Matt Dale in 2016; finishing in the minors in each of the Oakleigh Plate, Group 1 TJ Smith Stakes (1200m), Group 1 Manikato Stakes (1200m) and Group 1 Darley Classic (1200m) most notably.

English, Faatinah and Heatherly have all produced excellent performances this season and have each been confirmed to take a position in the 2017 The Galaxy field.

Winner of the Group 1 All Aged Stakes (1400m) last autumn, English failed to come up in the spring, but resumed this time for an impressive win in the Group 2 Challenge Stakes (1000m) a fortnight ago.

The Encosta De Lago mare has drawn ideally into The Galaxy field in barrier 5 and will be partnered by Blake Shinn.

Faatinah has been a consistent performer for Lindsay Park through recent season and will take his place in The Galaxy field off the back of a smart run for second in the Oakleigh Plate.

Regan Bayliss will take the ride on Faatinah after posting his first Group 1 win in last weekend’s Newmarket Handicap and the pair could receive the run of the race in The Galaxy from barrier 3.

Heatherly was flat when she finished sixth in the Group 1 Black Caviar Lightning Stakes (1000m) first-up, but the mare was never worried when she jogged home to comfortably win the Listed Bob Hoysted Handicap (1000m) on March 4th.

Music Magnate simply did not handle the bottomless track when fifth in the Group 1 Canterbury Stakes (1300m) a fortnight ago, but the gelding is offered a good opportunity to atone from barrier 7 in The Galaxy.

Winner of the Group 1 Doomben 10,000 (1350m) during last year’s Brisbane Winter Carnival, Music Magnate trialled well in the lead-up to his 2017 return, before flying home to win the Group 2 Expressway Stakes (1200m) first-up on January 28th.
